A special group of sixth grade students at Crockett Intermediate School are setting an inspiring example for their peers by showing tremendous respect at the flagpole each school day.

Hand-selected by Officer Brandenburg, these students were chosen to serve on the school’s Flag Crew because of their outstanding character, leadership, and dedication to being positive role models. Before stepping into their new roles, the students received training on the important responsibility of properly raising and lowering the American and Texas flags.

Each morning, the boys on the crew proudly raise the flags to begin the school day, while the girls respectfully lower them at day’s end. Their commitment to honoring this daily tradition reflects the values of respect, leadership, and service that Crockett Intermediate seeks to instill in all students.

“We are proud of these students for the responsibility they’ve accepted and the example they set for others,” said Officer Brandenburg. “They treat this role with the seriousness and respect it deserves, and it’s a privilege to watch them take part in this important tradition.”

The Flag Crew not only represents Crockett Intermediate at the flagpole each day, but also demonstrates how young leaders can make a positive impact on their school and community.
